How to manifest your dreams

Learning to manifest your dreams and goals has taken a bigger stage over the last few years since the publication of a book called ‘The Secret’. But is it really as simple as it sounds?

“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world.” (Buddha)

Thoughts manifest things

We have roughly 50,000 thoughts a day. And each and every one of those thoughts is the most powerful influence on everything that happens to you in your life? From the house you live in and the job you have to the people you attract.

In fact, the very world we live in now (good or bad as we perceive it) is the sum total of everyone’s previous thoughts.

So, if this is true, shouldn’t it be possible to bring into existence anything you desire?

The simple answer is – yes. But, as with everything, it’s not as simple as ‘I ask, therefore I receive’.

There are also two other ingredients you need to add to the mixture.

Thoughts need to be back by emotion

The first ingredient in conscious manifestation is emotion. The stronger the emotion, the more powerful your thoughts will become until it is an irresistible force that must manifest.

It is important that you create the same feelings and emotions you will have when you have achieved your thought or desire. That is to say, all you do is imagine that you already have what it is you want and feel the joy of having it.

Manifestation needs action

Actions speak louder than words, so is it any wonder that the second, and possibly the most important ingredient is action.

You need to put yourself in a position where you are able to take the action you need to get what you want, or at least put yourself on the right path.

The problem is, many people forget this. They think I’ve asked and that’s it, I just sit and wait, but without action, you will just sit still.

Action is necessary to reach any goal.

How to make your goals a reality

Goals (and dreams) can be a source of motivation or frustration depending on how you use them.

However, to turn a goal into something that is beneficial to you, it’s important to create goal-setting strategies:

Balance your goals

You will have many types of goals; personal development, financial, career, relationships, etc. Don’t neglect any of them. Be clear about them and make them real for you.

However, while it’s OK to want things, it’s also important to balance the pursuit of your goals with your personal growth as a person.

Plan specific actions

Your goals are not the steps, they are the destination. So you need to plan specific actions that help you move towards your goal.

By using your goals as a compass for those actions, you can tell whether the actions will be effective.

Share your goals

This is a rule of accountability.

Sharing goals with people who will support and encourage you helps you keep those actions towards your goals on track.

Write down your goals

Write them down on your phone, on Post-It notes, and/or index cards. Don’t just write them down and ignore them.  Keep them everywhere and look at them regularly.

Your goals are your compass to tell you which way to go. By making them the centre of your focus, you can choose the alignment of your compass.

Don’t give up!

Remember your goals and the actions you take to achieve your goals are two very different things.

True goals will take many steps of effective action to achieve.

So don’t be afraid to try something, be it new, scary or massive. If you fall, or it takes you in the wrong direction, adjust your sails and try again. After all, failure is how we learn, and they are an important part of self-development.

“There is nothing to fear you cannot fail – only learn, grow and become better than you’ve ever been before.” (Hal Elrod)

Your thoughts have the power to completely change your life and manifest your wildest desires. When they are backed by strong emotion and positive actions they become an unstoppable force that will carry you wherever you want to go in life.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start creating your dreams.

Until next time darlings.
