We’re excited to reveal our latest innovation, a series of breathing exercises customized to support each phase of the menstrual cycle.
The series has been crafted by our experienced yoga, meditation, and breathwork teacher to help Hormona users achieve better health and well-being.
HOW TO GET STARTED
STEP 1
Download the Hormona App
The first step is downloading the Hormona app directly to your smartphone. It’s available for both iOS and Android, and the download is completely free. Simply head to the App Store or Google Play Store, search for Hormona, and hit download. Once the app is installed, you’re ready for step 2.

Sign up for Hormona+
Next, sign up for Hormona+, our Premium subscription service. It’ll give you access to all of our exclusive Premium content, including Sheila Arnell’s exclusive breathwork sessions. Once you’re a Hormona+ member, you’re ready to delve into all of our amazing features and benefits. To get started with Sheila Arnell’s sessions, navigate to the Breathwork section, choose the session that’s tailored to your current phase, and follow along with her expert guidance.
This exercise involves equally long inhales and exhales. By using a slow breath rate, Resonance Breathing lowers stress and blood pressure, and reduces anxiety, with results you can see immediately. Breathing through your nose, and focusing on the mechanics of breathing are the key features for success.
Regularly holding your breath actually increases your capacity for breath. It also gives your diaphragm a workout, and that makes breathing easier every day as well as improving your overall cardiovascular health. This technique can be part of regular relaxation practice, and can also be helpful for the breathlessness many women experience during their Luteal Phase.
This is a simple yet powerful technique that can lower stress and anxiety and leave you feeling centered. Box breathing involves inhaling, holding, exhaling, and holding for an equal count, and can help concentrate your mind during Ovulation. It’s also the perfect breathwork exercise to do while walking.
This is a classic breathwork practice that reduces anxiety and stress, helps balance your hormones, and supports your entire respiratory system. Try with medium breath holds for maximum effectiveness.
